Newborn Baby Photography London
Newborn and Baby Photography Information
With Baby Photography London is seemingly spoilt for choice, however the market is awash with the highly posed, what I would call twee, portrait images that seem to be more about the props than about the newborns. You’ll be pleased to hear I’m not going to subject you to the hours of contorting your newborn into all sorts of unnatural positions. I class myself as a far more natural newborn and baby photographer. I have over 12 years of experience dealing with very new babies and can assure you of a great experience in the shoot, my portraits use organic posing with clever use of natural lighting which will give you a selection of between 50-70 beautiful, artistic images that are not the same as everyone else’s but are truly unique to you.
My shoots are extremely relaxed, I will let you know the order we’re going to do things so as to reduce the number of times your baby is changed and manhandled (they do get a bit fed up with being moved around too much) bearing in mind their feeding and sleeping needs. I am as comfortable in your home as in my studio doing newborns so please do ask for a home shoot if you’re happier there. But if you really just want to get out of the house the beautiful newly appointed West London Studio has ample natural light and provides a great relaxed atmosphere in which to spend a couple of hours enjoying the shoot as well as a great coffee machine!

Check out the Newborns and Baby Gallery to see my natural artistic baby photography London style. I concentrate on less highly posed images and more relaxed shots as I think they will stand the test of time far more than the ultra posed shots that are so ubiquitous at the moment.
When to make a booking
The best time for a newborn shoot is in the first 2 weeks of life as this is when your new baby is at her most sleepy and malleable. However any time in the first couple of months is fine especially if it’s been a traumatic birth.contact me to make an appointment.
How long will it take?
The shoot will take between 1 and 2 hrs with the usual length of time being around 1.5-2 hrs. This gives enough time for feeds and changes of clothing etc without worrying. You can park right outside the studio too so it’s very easy to get in and out. I will give you an idea of what to expect and what to bring and wear.
It’s also worth checking out the Special Offers page for seasonal promotions and new products etc.
Book your studio or AT HOME with natural fine art photographer Susan Porter-Thomas. Newborn Photography shoots are best between 1 and 2 weeks after the birth, are extremely relaxed, elegant and stylish using mainly natural posing and light. Takes between 1 and 2 hours and you will be able to preview up to 70 images online a few days after the shoot.
