We did a family photo shoot with our toddler and newborn at Susan’s studio. Susan was wonderful, she immediately put us all at ease and the pictures she took captured such beautiful and sweet moments. She is a very talented photographer and we will definitely be back in the coming years to capture more family memories.
This was our second time having photos taken by Susan. Yet again they surpassed our expectations. Susan and team were great at helping our children feel comfortable throughout the photo shoot, and Susan was very responsive to our questions/edits once we were sent the digital gallery to view. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic family photographer.
What’s the best age for an older baby photoshoot?
The best age for your baby is between 4 and 10 months old. You want them to be able to smile and hold their head up well which gives us more options for portraits. Sitting is probably the best age, before they can crawl. This is between 6-8 months usually, but once they can crawl they are generally so excited at being able to move that they don’t want to sit still.
Where is the studio for baby shoots?
The studio is in my home in Ealing, W54UJ. It is 2 mins walk from the piccadilly line station Northfieds, and half an hour from central London by car. You can park on the road outside too.
What do we wear for a baby shoot?
You are very welcome to use the materials and dresses I have in the studio to create drapes and dresses for the shoot. If you would like to bring your own clothing I’ve created a guide to help you. Take a look at the what to wear for a family shoot section.
How long does a baby photoshoot take?
When babies are this young, I aim to get the shoot done in under and hour. That way they are still enjoying it, I don’t want them to be at all bored of the shoot so I work fast.
What if my baby is in a bad mood on the day?
If baby is having a bad day then we can take a bit of time to ease them into what we’re doing. Quite often the new surroundings and new person, me, is interesting enough to get them out of their slump, but I am great at getting the most out of children of all characters so please don’t worry.
Do we need to come back to view the photos?
No I am very aware that families are very busy, so I will be sending you an online gallery with your edited images within a few days of the shoot so that you can view and purchase the images you love in your own time.
What’s the best time of day for a baby photoshoot?
In general I would always recommend an early to mid morning shoot for a baby. That way they are usually rested and fed. The later in the day it gets, the more we have opportunities for things to go wrong and create a tired baby.

Between 4 and 12 months is the time when a parent truly bonds with their child. Your baby can smile, laugh, interact and hug.. this is just the most wonderful time to capture, and what’s more, they can’t run away!!!! The mother and baby photoshoot is more about you and your child and the bond that has formed over the last few months.

We had a maternity family photoshoot with Susan. She made us feel very comfortable and welcome, she is a very creative individual and has great passion and skill for photography. We have just received our photos and they are absolutely stunning, capturing emotions and beaming with creative spark. Thank you very much for capturing this beautiful time of our lives so skillfully.
This was a photography session for my wife’s 40th birthday. Susan was very relaxed and made everyone ( a <1 year old and a 3 year old) feel comfortable and at ease, which really showed in the photos. She struck a great balance between giving direction and letting moments unfold naturally, so the pictures feel both polished and genuine. Thank you!
London Studio Family PhotoShoots
I have been a family photographer in West London since 2005 and have a fully equipped modern studio with gorgeous canvass backdrops and beautiful furs to pose on.
The studio is a lovely big modern space in Ealing, West London and as such is a very relaxed setting for children who settle in very quickly.
You can park on the road outside without a permit or the tube station is only 2 mins walk away. I will aim to produce not just family photos, but gorgeous family portraits which will stand the test of time and form the backbone of your family record.

What age is best for my baby to be?
The best time to have a Motherhood shoot is when your baby is between 4-10 months old. At this age, your baby can hold their head up well, can smile and interact, can hold onto you and snuggle into you.
Where is the Photo Studio?
Currently my Photography studio is in West London, Ealing W5. Which is 2 mins walk from a Picadilly line station and has parking available outside.
How long is the shoot?
Due to the age of your baby, I will try to get this shoot done in about an hour. This is plenty of time to do loads of different ideas but not so long that your child will run out of steam. We can stop for feeds etc though so don’t worry.
